S&T takes part in International Health & Safety Week 2019, Muscat
May 2019, Muscat: As part of CARE – Creating Awareness for a Risk-free Environment initiative, S&T HSE Department in Muscat participated in the ‘International Health & Safety Week’ from 28 April – 1 May, 2019 at the Grand Mall, Muscat. The exhibition was organised by the Ministry of Manpower under the Health & Safety Department. This is an annual event to promote awareness among organisations and industries including Oil & Gas, Oil Exploration, Construction, MEP, etc., and the public. The exhibition promoted latest developments by companies in Occupational Health and Safety and how companies could benefit from each other.
S&T Interiors and Contracting’s focus was on promoting health and safety aspects related to construction, work-life, household, and the general public. Our Health & Safety Department (HSE) represented the company in the exhibition, and carried numerous discussions on how to make the process of health and safety in the workplace more efficient, exchanging ideas that were well appreciated. The team raised awareness on importance of fire safety at home and importance of health and safety in general, with visitors including school students.
The event was an opportunity to share and promote S&T’s activities in health & safety such as VIT (Visual impact training) and C.A.R.E (creating awareness for risk free environment). S&T was awarded a participation trophy that highlights the second year of our contribution in the exhibition.
S&T kiosk had a huge number of footfalls at the exhibition. Visitors – Ministry Officials, Civil Defense officials, HSE professionals, Engineers and Students – appreciated S&T’s efforts and various initiatives of promoting safety at work, efficiently & consistently.
The success of the exhibition culminated in a seminar, where a variety of subjects including psychological health, food safety, etc., were discussed. These were pertinent new topics for some of the workplaces, giving a fresh insight from professionals and specialists.
